These Taylor pocket case and armor thermometers (with few exceptions) are made with BINOC® tubing which magnifies the liquid column for improved readability under all conditions. Thermometers are mercury-filled or red PERMACOLOR® liquid-filled for reading in poor light, and are calibrated for total immersion.  Maximum Registering Thermometers

Open Face Armor Case, Pocket Case. In instances when temperature readings cannot be continuously observed, a maximum registering thermometer will indicate the highest temperature reached during the time of use. The column of mercury will not recede into the chamber and therefore must be shaken down for each new reading, like a fever thermometer. Constructed of round tubing, it is mercury filled and calibrated for total immersion.

Mercury
 Industrial Mercury in Glass Thermometers

Rapid installation in separable wall or union hub connection without rotating instrument. A braided rope protects the tube from breakage and insulates it from case conduction of external heat to temperature sensitive bulb. Free moving mercury. High accuracy bulbs are aged to prevent changes in volume after installation.
